Ellen Chenoweth

About the Speaker
Ellen Chenoweth is a PhD candidate at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. She got her start working with humpback whales in Glacier Bay National Park summers during college. Ellen has a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Kalamazoo College in her home state of Michigan. After graduation, Ellen moved to Sitka in 2009 to work in Jan Straley’s lab. She is currently studying humpback whales feeding on juvenile salmon at Alaska’s hatchery release sites. Ellen started the first Whalefest FilmFest in 2013.
